Last week a number of club officers proved that their talents didn't just lie off the golf course, but that when they put their minds to it they could play the game pretty well too.
In Killorglin, club Captain Mike Madden - playing off 20 - had a great round, shooting a nett 60 to win the singles competition by five shots from Peter Byrne (20).
And at Ceann Sibeal, it was the turn of Lady Captain Pat Fenton to coast to victory in the weekly competition, where her 35 points saw her 11 points clear of second placed Rosemary Harrington.
Another Lady Captain winner last week was Ardee's Claire Gillespie who teamed up with Celia Tully to shoot 44 points and win the Open fourball competition, while Lady President of Carrick-on-Suir Delma Morrissey helped her team-mates Jacqui Kirwan, Geraldine Ryan and Deirdre Fitzpatrick claim the top prize in the RFC's Golf Classic.
There was disappointment, however, for Wexford's Lady Captain Mary O'Leary who had to settle for second place despite shooting 66 as she lost on a countback to Margaret Hearne.
