Christy Ring Cup Carlow 1-12 Mayo 0-13: Carlow had to come from behind to see off the challenge of Mayo at Pearse Stadium yesterday to notch their second win in the Christy Ring Cup.
Mayo did well in the first half and should have led by more than 0-10 to 1-4 at the break.
Adrian Freeman hit four of those points but a goal from Des Murphy after 11 minutes gave Carlow a big boost. Carlow took control after the restart and scored three points, in reply to another Freeman effort for Mayo, to leave just one point between them.
Keith Higgins extended Mayo's lead after 51 minutes but the next four scores came from Carlow with Brendan Lawler, Damien Roberts, Pat Coady and Des Shaw pushing them ahead.
