Carlow IT 6-12 Dundalk IT 0-12: Zach Tuohy, a star for the Laois minors in 2007, scored 3-2 from play as Carlow IT overwhelmed Dundalk IT in this Sigerson Cup SF tie at the Carlow IT grounds yesterday.
The result was remarkable for the fact that the home side shot 6-11 of their total from play.
Carlow had this game won by half-time as they held a 4-5 to 0-5 lead. Dundalk trailed 1-3 to 0-3 after the opening quarter, Tuohy's first goal being the difference. But they were unable to hold back the tide of scores which descended from a lethal Carlow forward line for the remainder of the half. On the evidence of yesterday's powerful display Carlow will be a serious challenger for the Sigerson Cup.
