Carlow's five-point win over Waterford at Dr Cullen Park, Carlow, yesterday proved fruitless, leaving them in third position.
Waterford were the better side in the opening half and took a 1-2 to 03 lead after 18 minutes with a goal from Martin Power. Carlow showed vast improvement in the second half and points from Johnny Nevin and Garvan Ware took them level from where they took control.
