League of Ireland News round-up:While the leading title contenders busy themselves with European competitions, three of the Premier Division's bottom four are in action this evening, Galway United taking on Bray Wanderers and Waterford United hosting Paul Cook's Sligo Rovers.
Both of the teams at the RSC will be looking to get back to winning ways after a number of disappointing results.
Rovers arrive with doubts over a handful of players but Brian Cash is expected to recover from the groin strain that forced his first-half departure last week, while top scorer Mathew Judge and Rafael Cretaro face late fitness tests.
Gareth Cronin will again be without Alan Mulcahy (ankle) and Shane Harte (groin), but Cathal Lordan returns after missing the defeat by Cork because of the terms of his loan agreement.
"We've been playing well but the wheels have come off the last couple of times out and we need to start putting points on the board again," said the manager.
Galway could be without their newly signed striker Yeboah Mensah for some time as a result of a knee injury picked up in last week's draw with Sligo. A scan today should reveal the extent of the damage but manager Tony Cousins is concerned the player faces a long lay-off.
Another striker, Chris Armstrong, is already out long term, while David Cooke, Liam McKenna, John Russell and Stephen O'Flynn are expected to sit out the next couple of games.
Wanderers, meanwhile, seem set to travel without Colm Tresson again after the defender missed Thursday night's friendly against Wolves. Eddie Gormley will hope his team can avenge a 1-0 home loss to United in April.
