Over 70 letters of complaint have been received by the ILGU about the new handicapping system, introduced last February. Some clubs are proposing that the maximum 36 remain in place with players working their way out to 40 or 45. All the proposals and complaints have been sent to the LGU, who have already indicated that changes will be made for next year. Changes will be made to the qualifying competitions, open qualifying competitions, playing handicap and handicap registered forms.

Clubs will no longer be required to obtain a temporary scratch score if the length of a hole has been altered by more than 10 yards. A temporary scratch score will only be required if the total overall length of the course has been altered by more than 100 yards. Only one of the five districts voted yes to a request from the LGU for an increase in membership fees.
