Gaelic Games/McGrath Cup/Cork IT 3-8 UCC 2-8: Cork IT claimed a first victory over local rivals UCC in a knock-out competition to reach the McGrath Cup semi-final at the Mardyke yesterday. They next play Tipperary in Clonmel on Sunday.

Two first-half goals by Paul O'Flynn sent CIT on their way as they led by 3-5 to 1-4 at the interval.

Daniel Goulding could afford the luxury of kicking points from two penalties in the second-half scored. Goulding added a goal as well.

UCC's first-half goal was scored by corner-forward Liam Ó Loinan, while substitute John Hayes grabbed the other in the second-half.
