Classic league nears climax

The classic league was this year confined to just four events towards the end of the season. The Matt Corcoran memorial race at Naas on Sunday (1.0) is the final event, with Brian Kenneally leading the event overall.

Only David O'Loughlin, who won the first race to count, the Mayo Grand Prix in July, can draw level with Kenneally.

After that win at Castlebar, O'Loughlin was on international duty with Irish teams in the Tour of the Cotswolds at Gloucester and the European under-23 championship at Lisbon when Kenneally won the Gene Moriarty memorial at Listowel and the Tour of Armagh at Lurgan.

With points going to only the first six in each event, it means that Kenneally has 12 with O'Loughlin on six.
