Schools Rugby Leinster Junior Cup/Clongowes Wood 27 Cistercian Roscrea 14:Favourites Clongowes Wood College blew Cistercian College Roscrea away in the first half of this semi-final at Donnybrook yesterday. The backrow of Diarmuid Kennedy, Bryan Grehan and Nicholas McCarthy caused havoc by turning over the ball time and time again.
Centre Stephen MacAuley made the first try for Oscar Ó Suillebháin, crossed for the second and caused the damage that left number eight Kennedy to pounce on a loose ball for the fourth in the 28th minute. Winger Harry Burns cut through a porous defence for the third, and lock Conor Gilsenan converted two of four and shot a 40-metre penalty for a 27-0 lead at the break.
Roscrea outhalf Jack O'Connell's show-and-go brought a converted try in the 45th minute and he repeated the feat with a snipe from five yards
