Jimmy Clynch showed he has lost none of his skill when winning the Hilary Golfing Society outing at Co Louth on Sunday. Clynch, winner of the Gold Medal in three of the last four years, will have to shoot another subpar round in the final outing at the Portmarnock Links on Sunday week if he is to catch the overall leader, Bill Thompson (Sutton).
Thompson is on five under par in the best three from five cards and is closely followed by another Sutton member, Aidan Williams at three under after two rounds, Mark Collins and Kieran O'Byrne at minus two and Richie McDonnell from Co Louth on minus one.
