Confident vote for Simons Castle

Simons Castle can be king over his rivals in the Mosdorfer UK 10th Anniversary Handicap Hurdle at Leicester today

Simons Castle can be king over his rivals in the Mosdorfer UK 10th Anniversary Handicap Hurdle at Leicester today. The former Sheena Collins-trained five-year-old has already shown his well-being this term with victory in a three-horse affair at Towcester.

Roland O'Sullivan's charge had the race sewn up a long way out when defeating Jamaican Flight, winner of his previous start, by two lengths, with Effectual three lengths further away last of three.

Simons Castle simply toyed with the opposition despite tiring after the last and is clearly much better than the bare form suggests.

He should strip that bit fitter today and will be a tough nut to crack. The gelding looked useful last season, opening his account over hurdles at Lingfield and ending the campaign with a creditable third to Montroe at Cheltenham in April.

Sihafi opened his account for the campaign at Lingfield in January and has won seven times since on turf.

Today the trainer's wife Alex Greaves takes the ride on Sihafi, who races from stall one and off his highest mark of 80 as he goes for win number 10.
