Munster A had the upper hand on their Connacht counterparts in the interprovincial played at Galway Sportsgrounds on Saturday, where their out-half, Conor Mahony, contributed 14 points. The victors went 5-0 down after four minutes when Owen Cobbe had a try, but by the 19th minute Munster led 12-5 following tries by Alan Quinlan and Greg Tuohy, as well as a conversion by Mahony. John Lacey, Quinlan and John Fitzgerald added more tries.
Connacht had two tries in a 12 minute period between the 53rd and 65th minute, both from Diarmuid Reddan but Munster had the final say with a try from Mahony, with 10 minutes to go to seal the 22 points victory.
