Cork City 3 St Patrick's Athletic 1: Cork City produced their most entertaining performance of the season to dominate St Patrick's Athletic before 4,000 spectators in the Premier Division tie at Turner's Cross last night.
Cork's opened the scoring after 10 minutes when a cross from Liam Kearney was dropped by goalkeeper Barry Ryan and Kevin Doyle struck quickly to fire home the loose ball.
The home side produced a second goal after 23 minutes. George O'Callaghan spun a cross from the left wing and Behan headed to the net. Roy O'Donovan scored an equally good third goal in the 52nd minute.
O'Donovan took a pass from Colin O'Brien in his stride before striking beyond Ryan from 20 yards.
The Dublin side's only consolation was an own goal from O'Callaghan, who deflected a shot into his own net on 91 minutes.
