Michael Twohig demonstrated that experience counts when he won the semi-final of the Peugeot Challenge World Tour last month. The sprightly 75-year-old Corkman beat off all competitors to win the area final at Cork golf club, Little Island, with a score of 70. The 12 handicapper now goes forward to the Irish finals at the K Club on Monday. The Peugeot World Tour has attracted entries from 325 clubs, up 25 per cent on last year. Two players from the 27 finalists at the K Club will qualify for the international final in Paris next month.
