ULSTER MFC QUARTER-FINAL Monaghan 1-12 Derry 0-10: MONAGHAN STAGED a strong finish in an entertaining curtain-raiser in Celtic Park yesterday.
The sides were level at two points apiece after 10 minutes and Derry led at the break by two points – 0-6 to 0-4.
Minutes after the restart Monaghan took control with a goal and three points in a blistering six-minute spell to open a three-point gap. Shane Coyle got the goal and added two points – the other coming from Jack McCarron. There was no way back for Derry.
