1 minute: Ciarán Sheehan is through on goal but the outstretched leg of Brendan McVeigh denies him. Sheehan punches the rebound from a yard out but Daniel McCartan parries it off the line. McVeigh pounces on the loose ball.

1 minute: Daniel Goulding opens the scoring with a free. 0-1 to 0-0.

4 mins: Danny Hughes gets Down off the mark after a delicate foot pass by Marty Clarke. 0-1 to 0-1.

8 mins: Paul McComiskey ignores Benny Coulter, opting to take his point after John Clarke broke a high ball in off Eoin Cadogan. 0-1 to 0-2.

12 mins: A second Goulding free levels it up. 0-2 to 0-2.

13 mins: Marty Clarke bounces the ball off O'Leary's head from point-blank range after the Cork wing back refuses to move. Clarke then points the free. 0-2 to 0-3.

15 mins: John Clarke joins his brother on the scoreboard before Marty curls over another free as Down ease in front. 0-2 to 0-5.

17 mins: Ray Carey is struggling on McComiskey as he ignores the Clarke brothers to kick a second point. 0-2 to 0-6.

25 mins: Miskella flashes a needless wide from 30 metres out. Cork refuse to play percentage football.

26 mins: Danny Hughes is everywhere. He shreds Carey before punching over the bar. 0-2 to 0-7.

31 mins: Cork are overly reliant on placed balls, Donncha O'Connor kicks their third, but Goulding gets their first from play. 0-4 to 0-7.

33 mins: Coulter makes a great catch and is fouled by Cadogan. Clarke clips it over. 0-4 to 0-8.

34 mins: Aidan Walsh drives at the Down defence and is fouled by Peter Fitzpatrick. He takes the free quickly to O'Connor who points. 0-5 to 0-8.

HALF-TIME

35 mins: Alan O'Connor is replaced by Nicholas Murphy who buries Fitzpatrick, late and in the solar plexus, right off the throw-in.

38 mins: A horrible foot pass by Paul Kerrigan is rapidly shifted downfield where McComiskey kicks his third point. 0-5 to 0-9.

39 mins: Murphy's presence in midfield is felt immediately. Goulding lands his fourth point, third free. 0-6 to 0-9.

41 mins: Kissane kicks Cork's third wide of the second-half. He is replaced by Canty as the Cork crowd finally clear their throat.

42 mins: Fitzpatrick is yellow-carded for fouling Paul Kerrigan. Goulding points. 0-7 to 0-9. Gordon is yellow-carded.

44 mins: Mark Poland points despite the close presence of Canty. 0-7 to 0-10.

46 mins: Finally, Cork simplify matters. Michael Shields powers out of defence and possession is transferred up to O'Connor who makes it 0-8 to 0-10.

47 mins: The stadium explodes with noise as Goulding rides a tackle by Daniel McCartan before pointing and wheeling away in delight. 0-9 to 0-10.

50 mins: The Rebels go up another few decibels when Sheehan is the next inside forward to profit from quick ball. Cork are now flying. 0-10 each.

51 mins: Clarke runs a decoy to allow Poland find Kevin McKernan in space. 0-10 to 0-11.

55 mins: Donnacha O'Connor catches, wins and kicks another free off Gordon. 0-11 each. Kerrigan squeezes over a point. Cork lead 0-12 to 0-11.

58 mins: Goulding lands two 45s as Cork pull away. James McCartan is shouting on the line: "Benny! Move!" 0-14 to 0-11.

63 mines: Benny moves. He powers through two Cork men on the sideline before being hit late by Cadogan. Coulter is yellow-carded for pulling the hurler into a headlock. Fitzpatrick points. 0-14 to 0-12.

66 mins: Donnacha O'Connor kicks a fine point but Ronan Murtagh immediately responds for Down. 0-15 to 0-13.

68 mins: McVeigh denies Colm O'Neill a goal as McKernan snaffles it out for a 45. Goulding steps up to write himself into the history books. 0-16 to 0-13.

68 mins: Coulter brilliantly catches a Clarke delivery before blasting over. 0-16 to 0-14.

70 mins: Hughes punches Clarke's sideline between the posts to ensure a nail-biting finish. 0-16 to 0-15.

72 mins: Daniel Goulding intercepts Conor Maginn's desperate pass and is hammered by McKernan. Cork free. Cork freedom. Game over.
