LEAGUE OF IRELAND:BOHEMIANS WON'T know the extent of knee ligament damage to midfielder Glenn Cronin until after he undergoes a scan today. Cronin was injured in Saturday's Intertoto Cup exit to FK Riga and misses this evening's game at Bray Wanderers as Pat Fenlon's side resume league action.
Due to their involvement in Europe, erstwhile leaders Bohemians have three games in hand, but have fallen four points behind St Patrick's Athletic. Victories tonight and against Derry City at the Brandywell on Friday would put them back on top.
"I don't believe we will have any difficulty regaining our focus," said Fenlon in relation to lifting themselves after their European disappointment. "The players have been excellent in this regard and I actually think they will be delighted to resume league action. That should not be an issue."
The strength in depth of Fenlon's squad will be tested, however, as wingers Killian Brennan and John Paul Kelly are suspended, while defender Ken Oman (ankle) and midfielder Mark Rossiter (hamstring) remain out. Striker Jason Byrne should be recovered from a thigh strain and so be in contention to start.
Bray, now fifth from bottom after two successive defeats, have re-signed experienced midfielder Philip Keogh, who returns to the club having taken time out to travel, though he won't be fit to play for several weeks. Manager Eddie Gormley also confirmed yesterday the club had signed central defender Derek Foran from St Patrick's Athletic. Foran had been on loan with Wanderers since the start of the season.
