This will go down as two points dropped by Bohemians despite Glen Crowe's injury-time equaliser at Dalymount Park on Saturday night. Last season's top striker experienced varied fortunes in front of goal but was on hand in the 93rd minute to convert Paul Byrne's cross.
At times Cork rode their luck with the Bohemians front partnership of Crowe and Trevor Molloy unable to put away some good chances.
The return of Trinidad international Avery John and Irish under-21 Brian Shelley was welcome news for Bohemians' boss Pete Mahon, with Shelly coming on in the second half. By then they trailed 2-1 after conceding goals from Derek Coughlan who struck twice in as many minutes thanks to some shaky defending.
After an earlier appeal was turned down Molloy converted a penalty after goalkeeper Michael Devine had taken him down.
However, Cork got themselves back into the game a minute before half time when Coughlan headed home Kelvin Flanagan's corner. Crowe then blasted over at the other end and his miss was to prove costly when four minutes after the restart he converted with another header after poor defending from an Alan Carey free.
