Darren Crowe remains on course as the Dunmurray player reached the semi-final of the South of Ireland Championship after defeating Philip Walton's nephew Brendan at Lahinch today.

In the morning matches Crowe beat American Brendan Tracy 6 and 5 before overcoming 20-year-old Walton (The Island) 3 and 2 in the quarter-final.

If Crowe is to reach his third successive final he must overcome Royal Dublin's Niall Kearney, who beat Westport's Cathal O'Malley 3 and 2 in the last eight.

West of Ireland champion Joe Lyons got the better Monkstown's Shane Horgan by one hole to book his place in the last four. Lyons also got the better of defending champion Simon Ward earlier.

Lyons will now take on Castletroy's Stephen Moloney after he defeated fellow Limierck man Cian McNamara 4 and 3.
