Hurling goalkeeper Brendan Cummins took centre stage at Clonmel yesterday as Tipperary shocked Kerry. The All Star goalkeeper scored three points for the home side in the opening half to keep them in touch as Kerry's Kieran Foley,
Brian Scanlan, Jack Ferriter and John Shanahan gave them a 0-7 to 0-4 lead.
Tipperary got a decisive goal when James Power struck in the 25th minute. However, a pointed free by Ferriter gave Kerry a 0-8 to 1-4 half-time lead. Points from Paul Cahill and Brendan Cummins then edged Tipperary in front but Kerry levelled through Foley.
Cummins and Foley swapped scores before Tipp 's Paul Cahill hit two points.
