Kevin Darley confirmed himself back in the top flight by completing a century of winners for the season yesterday. He reached three figures for the sixth time in his career as he landed the Tote Bookmakers Stakes at Musselburgh on Freedom Quest, with a well-timed run to lead inside the final furlong and beat Beau Roberto.
Darley (39) hit the 100-mark every season from 1993 to 1997, finishing runner-up in the jockeys' championship in the former year and third in the latter.
He missed out last term when he rode only 94 winners. But he has bounced back this term and is currently fourth in the riders' table behind Kieren Fallon.
