Fleet-footed Pauric Davis terrorised Antrim throughout this Section B match at Casement Park yesterday, finishing with a personal tally of a goal and six points. Antrim corner back Andy McGowan was sent off after just nine minutes for an off-the-ball incident with Davis and Longford's Paul McCormick proved an effective extra man. Seconds before McGowan's dismissal, Antrim had shot into the lead with a punched goal by Ronan Hamill, and centre-back Ciaran O'Neill blasted home a penalty to leave the home side 2-2 to 0-5 ahead at the break.
Longford were dominant in the second half, but failed to score from many of their attacks. Their solitary goal arrived in the 41st minute with Davis on the end of a superb fourman movement from half-back. A final spurt by Antrim produced a point and a last-minute goal by Frankie Wilson.
