Kildare 0-16 Dublin 1-13: (after extra time):THESE TALENTED teams must meet for a third time after 80 minutes of fine football on Saturday.
Harry Dawson was the Dublin hero, relishing the full-forward role vacated by the injured Ciarán Kilkenny and scoring 1-7 from play. The full forward’s 60th-minute goal helped the visitors peg back a five-point deficit with normal time almost ended and his point in the second half of extra-time ensured a replay.
Kildare improved on the resumption, having trailed by 0-6 to 0-4 at the break. With Pádraig Fogarty and Fionn Dowling leading the way, they established a 0-13 to 0-8 lead before Dawson struck. Ferghal Duffy and Seán Stewart pointed late to bring the game to extra time.
