HURLING lost one of its dearest sons on Saturday following the death of former Wexford player Bobby Rackard. One of four Rackard brothers to represent the county, he was a member of the 1955 and 1956 All-Ireland winning teams and was honoured as a member of the hurling team of the century in 1984.
He is survived by his wife Betty and seven children, Bob, Nicholas, Christopher, Mary, Elizabeth, Helen and Anna, his brothers Billy and John and his sisters Essie, Molly, Sally and Rita.
