The death took place on Monday of former international rugby player Robin Pratt. He was 85. Educated at Royal Portora School in Enniskillen, and at Trinity College, Dublin, where he played for the university side, he went on to earn five senior caps for Ireland, against Wales, England and Scotland in 1933, and England and Scotland in 1934.

Pratt, who is thought to have instigated the "round-the-corner kick, played with Lansdowne for a season after graduating as a doctor.

He subsequently joined the Royal Air Force, with whom he played until the end of his career.

He also represented the Combined Services during that time.
