Derry City recorded their first victory of the season on Saturday and manager Felix Healy took the opportunity to lash out at those responsible for circulating what he described as "malicious rumours" regarding trouble within the Brandywell camp.
"There is no crisis at this club," he blasted, after his side had picked up maximum points against Bohemians.
"I've heard so many rumours regarding rows in the dressing room, about me having resigned and even about the club having become bankrupt. All that talk is total and utter nonsense. I'm fed up listening to it and hopefully now that we've earned our first victory the doubters will be silenced,", he said.
"Our early season problems have all stemmed from having too many players out injured. However, against Bohemians we almost had a full complement of players available and look what happened".
They, without doubt, will take great confidence from the victory but the incident which fashioned the game's only goal was controversial to say the least.
In the 51st minute Bohemians midfielder Peter Hanrahan seemed to use his shoulder in a challenge against Peter Hutton with the Derry captain falling to the ground. But Dublin official John Feighery had no doubt and pointed to the spot. Up stepped Paul Curran and he kept his nerve to drive the ball wide of Michael Dempsey.
