Rangers have appealed against the three-match ban imposed on Dutch striker Michael Mols by ruling body UEFA following his sending-off against Turkish team Fenerbahce on August 8th.

Mols was red-carded in the 0-0 draw in the first leg of their Champions League third qualifying tie at Ibrox.

The Dutchman received his marching orders for an off-ball clash with Fenerbahce's Samuel Johnson only 13 minutes after coming on as a second-half substitute.

"I'm very unhappy with the decision to ban Michael Mols for three games," Rangers manager Dick Advocaat told the club's website.

Chelsea manager Claudio Ranieri says he will continue his policy of switching formations and tactics in mid-match during the upcoming season.

The former Valencia coach has been criticised for supposedly confusing his players with his flexible tactics.
