Ceann Sibeal, Europe's most westerly golf course, situated in the Dingle Penninsula, is planning a week of activity to celebrate its 75th anniversary in the Dingle area. Three different sites have been their home in Dingle since 1924. The first was at Ballintaggart, then to nearby Doonshean and since 1973 the Ceann Sibeal links near Ballyferriter has been the permanent location. This most testing course have chosen next weekend as the ideal time to roll back the clock and remember days gone by. Activities begin on Friday with the unveiling of the new Ceann Sibeal Club flag at 8.30 a.m. and the opening of the newly refurbished club shop. A four-person open team classic is planned for Saturday followed by ceol, caint, canabh agus craic after the prize-giving at 9.30 p.m. Entry fee is £300 per team and on Sunday there is an open four-ball. The club captain is former Kerry footballer, Vincent O'Connor.
