ROSCOMMON SFC FINAL St Brigid's 0-14 Elphin 0-9:FRANKIE DOLAN was the scoring hero for St Brigid's as they won the Roscommon football title before an attendance of 4,000 at Hyde Park yesterday.
Former county star Dolan scored 0-7, while county players Karol Mannion and Senan Kilbride were also prominent as St Brigid’s dominated breaking ball in the second half.
The sides were level after 40 minutes but after Ronan Collins saved a goalbound shot from Cathal McHugh, St Brigid’s moved up the gears. Kilbride and Dolan gave them a two-point lead by the 47th minute.
Fintan Cregg reduced the gap to the minimum from a free in the 48th minute but St Brigid’s made a decisive surge in the 51st minute. Mannion scored from play, Kilbride converted a free and Dolan had two further points from frees.
John Collins scored for Elphin in the 59th minute but Kilbride completed the scoring with a point from play one minute later.
