Pool D/ France 64 Georgia 8: France booked their quarter-final place when Christophe Dominici landed the fourth try that ensured the home side came away with five points.
There were passages of play where France's backs off-loaded the ball rapidly, and there was crispness to the three-quarters, while the maul rumbled efficiently for tries to Yannick Nyanga and Sebastien Bruno.
Yannick Jauzion got France moving when he broke through Irakli Giorgadze's tackle and put Clement Poitrenaud in space in the sixth minute. Lionel Beauxis converted and three penalties to give them a 16-point cushion within the half-hour.
But it was not until Mamuka Magrakvelidze went to the sinbin for tripping in the 29th minute that France began to pull away and, after Nyanga bundled over, Beauxis's finishing of a four-man overlap put them 30 points clear at half-time, with Dominici, Lionel Nallet, Remy Martin and Julien Bonnaire completing the job.
