Double gets Fallon off the mark

Kieren Fallon rode two winners at Musselburgh on Saturday, his first winners in Britain since his return from injury

Kieren Fallon rode two winners at Musselburgh on Saturday, his first winners in Britain since his return from injury. First he brought Regal Song with a strong run to catch Abbajabba in the closing stages of the five-furlong handicap to prevail by a neck. Then he completed a 20 to 1 double on Lennel in the final race. Fallon, who took the riders' championship on the Flat in 1997, 1998 and 1999, has been under close scrutiny since his British comeback at Wolverhampton on March 27th.

There had been comment from some quarters that his riding style had been affected by the incident at Royal Ascot last June where he suffered a career-threatening shoulder injury.

But Fallon himself remains adamant he will regain the jockeys' title he lost to Kevin Darley last year.
