All Irish motorsport is cancelled until April 5th, when Motorsport Ireland will review the situation.
The Circuit of Ireland, to be run out of Enniskillen over the Easter holiday, is looking extremely doubtful, but if the green light is given it is on the cards that the sport could restart with the two Wexford Hillclimbs on April 7th and 8th.
The Circuit of Kerry would also be on April 8th and would mark the start of the Dunlop National Rally Championship, replacing the Mayo Stages which was to have opened the series this Sunday.
With two rounds of the EARS Motorsport Night Navigation Trials Championship yet to be run, reigning champions Michael O'Connor and Paul Phelan cannot be beaten for the 2000/01 title. This marks a hat-trick for the Cork-Dublin experts, a seventh title for O'Connor and a remarkable 19th for Phelan.
The World Rally Championship takes to the gravel stages of Portugal for round three this weekend. In the drivers' championship there is a triple tie between Finnish drivers Tommi Makinen (Mitsubishi) and Harri Rovanpera (Peugeot), respective winners of the Monte Carlo and Swedish rallies, and Spain's Carlos Sainz, driving for Ford, on 10 points each.
