IT APPEARS that knocks sustained by Dublin minor footballers Eric Lowndes and Cormac Costello in Sunday's All-Ireland minor football final will not hinder either player's involvement in this weekend's hurling replay against Tipperary.
The match remains on the undercard of the senior replay between Kilkenny and Galway, throw-in at 1.15pm.
Lowndes produced a stunning performance from right wing back, where he shipped two heavy tackles from Meath players, winning frees on both occasions, in the convincing 0-14 to 1-5 result that brought the Tom Markham Cup back to Dublin for the first time in 28 years.
Costello, who contributed 0-5 on Sunday to add to the 1-3 registered in the drawn match with Tipperary on September 9th, appeared to be hurt in the closing stages but it turned out to be cramp.
"I gather they're fine," said Dublin minor hurling manager Shay Boland. "Our dual players all go for a rub on Mondays, where they can be assessed.
"Cormac was suffering from cramp, while Eric is a hardy fella. He did take two heavy belts but they get them all the time in training. They get up and get on with it."
The other cross-over players are Conor McHugh and Donal Gormley, who was a late inclusion ahead of Seán Treacy against Tipp.
Treacy is fit again so Boland must decide whether to change the make-up of his attack. Gormley registered a point the last day, while Chris Bennett is another consideration having come in for Caolan Conway on 50 minutes.
"Tipperary would probably say they didn't play to their potential the last day so we expect them to improve," Boland continued. "Backs were on top the last day so hopefully the forwards can get a better handle on it on Sunday.
"For certain the novelty factor of being involved in an All-Ireland has gone but there has to be a bonus with playing two finals in one year."
