Camogie Round-up: Dublin, out of the limelight for too long, took a big step towards restoring pride at the weekend when they beat Offaly 3-7 to 2-4 in the opening round of the Leinster junior championship in Páirc Uí Mhurchú, Ballyboden St Enda's.

Offaly got off to a great start with a Sharron Daly goal in the first minute. The young Dublin side responded quickly with quick points from Gillian McCluskey and Niamh Taylor, and the sides were level at half-time, Offaly 1-2, Dublin 0-5.

Nine minutes after the break Ciara Durkan goaled to put Dublin ahead, 1-6 to 1-3. It proved the turning point. Almost immediately Louise O'Hara, who had a brilliant game, added another Dublin point. The second Dublin goal came from captain Emer Brannigan, who despite carrying a hamstring injury made a significant contribution when introduced just before the break.

Dublin thus progress to the next round and a meeting with Wexford on June 11th. The only other Leinster junior championship match saw Kildare whitewash Wicklow 13-27 to 0-0. They next meet Meath, also on June 11th.
