Central Council:The GAA's player welfare manager Pauric Duffy may be on a collision course with top managers after recommending a limit be placed on the number of training sessions for intercounty panels.

The intention is to create more time for leading GAA players to line out for their clubs.

Duffy made a presentation on the playing of club fixtures at Saturday's Central Council meeting.

Further recommendations were the abolishment of the junior and intermediate intercounty championships. He also suggested that legislation be drawn up for a release of intercounty players for club duty.
