LIMERICK PREVIEW:THE FLYING Dustman came agonisingly close to securing a first success at Limerick on Sunday but Michael Hourigan's horse can do the job properly over the same course and distance this afternoon.
There was little wrong with The Flying Dustman’s resolution 48 hours ago, leading early, relinquishing it at the second last, only to be back in front at the last and only ultimately failing to Monaco Springs by half a length.
Hourigan’s runner had previously finished runner-up to Grange Alainn and this former point-to-point scorer can secure a first success between the flags in today’s handicap chase.
The aforementioned Grange Alainn appears in today’s handicap hurdle but has to concede almost a stone to Kot’s Terry and that may be an insurmountable task. The Byrnes runner was a close third to Four Chimneys here on St Stephen’s Day.
Killultagh Queen looks to have a suitable opportunity in the mares maiden hurdle.
Limerick will hold an 8am inspection of the chase course this morning.
