Drogheda Utd 2 Bray Wanderers 0:DROGHEDA UNITED cast off their European cobwebs to ease to a comfortable victory over a game Bray side who played second fiddle throughout the 90 minutes. An early goal set the home side on their way, and once they struck for a second time midway through the second period the outcome was never in doubt.

With just 63 seconds gone Ollie Cahill sprayed the ball out right to Fahrudin Kuduzovic. His cross was met by Adam Hughes who, at full stretch, guided his header to the top corner.

The home side soon went close to doubling their lead when Cahill's volley on the turn fell narrowly wide. Guy Bates dragged his shot past the post before Cahill rapped his 20-yard strike off the crossbar in the 15th minute.

After this early flurry a lull followed until just beyond the half-hour mark, when a move involving Cahill, Kuduzovic and Joe Kendrick saw the latter's shot saved by Bray goalkeeper Alan Gough.
