Due to the foot-and-mouth crisis, a number of restrictions will be in place for the Easter Monday race meeting at Leopardstown.

Cars will not be permitted to access the racecourse through the Foxrock entrance and instead will enter the course through the official gates at Leopardstown Road and Ballyogan Road.

All vehicles will pass over soaked disinfectant pads and any vehicles covered in mud or muck will not be allowed to enter. All members of the public will be required to walk over the disinfectant mats.

The British Horseracing Board's current policy of not racing in foot-and-mouth infected areas is set to be reviewed at a meeting today. As the policy stands, no track can hold a meeting if it lies within 10 kilometres of an infected farm, an approach which goes beyond the regulations laid down by the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Foods, which has said that racing between three kilometres and 10 kilometres was not a risk.
