Pat Eddery left hospital yesterday after undergoing an operation on his troublesome back. The problems forced Eddery to bring his season to a premature close just five days after notching his 4,000th career win aboard Silver Patriarch in the St Leger.
Eddery's agent Terry Ellis said: "Pat is really pleased with the way things have gone. The numbness has disappeared from his legs.
"He'll have two or three weeks rest and then he'll be returning to physiotherapy."
Meanwhile, Bangor and Worcester will be televised on Channel 4 today after the abandonment of the meeting at York.
Bosses at the television station moved quickly yesterday to switch their racing coverage to the two jumping meetings.
They plan to screen live the 3.10, 3.40, 4.15 and 4.50 races from Bangor and the 3.25, 4.00 and 4.30 races from Worcester.
