France won the King Hassan II Cup in Casablanca despite a shock spot-kick defeat to lively hosts Morocco.

The French picked up four points from two games - the same as England - but won the competition because they scored more goals over their two games.

France needed to equalise twice to take to the game to the shoot-out, during which Youri Djorkaeff and Vincent Candela each missed a penalty.

Morocco went ahead after 14 minutes when Salaheddine Bassir chased a lofted pass over the static French defence.
