Rugby: English clubs yesterday withdrew their threat to prevent access to players if rescheduled Six Nations games clashed with long-standing club fixtures. Speaking at the launch of the new English club and player partnership in London, Gloucester owner Tom Walkinshaw said: "The clubs will work to honour their commitments and will release players for future internationals."

Rugby: European Cup organisers ERC Ltd have confirmed that the cup semi-finals will go ahead as scheduled. Stade Francais will play Munster in Lille on Saturday, April 21st. Gloucester play Leicester at Vicarage Road on the same day.
