Coláiste Eoin 0-9 Knockbeg College 0-4:Coláiste Eoin led throughout this tie at Fr Maher Park, Graiguecullen, Carlow, yesterday and the school from Stillorgan sent 2005 Hogan Cup winners Knockbeg College, Carlow, crashing out of this year's competition.

The game saw Coláiste Eoin storm into a 0-4 to 0-0 lead despite playing into the wind.

The Dublin side's centre forward Paul Ó Cuninneagain was impeccable with the first three points while corner forward Niall Ó Coilleran raised an excellent white flag from play.

Donie Kingston kicked both Knockbeg's first half points, one from a free, as they trailed 0-6 to 0-2 at the break.

Knockbeg goalkeeper Kieran Cunningham made a good save to deny Marc Shutte a goal but Marc Ó Coghlain pointed from the follow-up play.

When Ronan Breathnach scored a point five minutes into the second half Coláiste Eoin were up 0-8 to 0-2 and well on the way to a quarter-final place.
