Chris Eubank claims a new and wholesome approach will give him the edge when he challenges Carl Thompson for the WBO Cruiserweight title on Saturday.
Dieting to make the weight has handicapped Eubank throughout his career, but the battle to beat the scales is now over.
He has jumped up two weight divisions for his showdown with fellow Briton Thompson at Manchester's Nynex Arena, and believes being at his natural weight will put him at his best.
During the last six weeks, at his training camp on Bodmin Moor in Cornwall, Eubank has treated himself to his favourite food and drink and has been eating three dinners a day.
"I even eat dinner for breakfast," said Eubank. "I drink pineapple juice by the litre and that is unheard of for me. It used to be half a glass of water."
Eubank, the former WBO middleweight and super middleweight champion, has taken special deliveries from London of West Indian delicacies high in carbohydrates such as yam and green bananas to go with his liking for marinated calf liver.
He admits that having to lose weight in the past has "hurt" and added "not having to go through all that this time, and being at my natural weight, means I am likely to be the best I have felt throughout my career."
Eubank takes on Thompson having lost on points to undefeated Welsh southpaw Joe Calzaghe for the WBO super middleweight title in his last outing.
