Offaly 5-16 London 1-6:Offaly duly made a winning start to their Division Four campaign by scoring a comprehensive victory over London in Tullamore yesterday.
However, it would be unwise to assess the potential of Pat Roe's charges on this performance.
At times, particularly in the second half, Offaly shaped up well, but earlier they did not look like potential division winners when toiling to an interval lead of six points - 1-9 to 1-3.
Poor finishing by their forwards denied Offaly scores in the opening 35 minutes, but they dominated after the break. A hat-trick of goals by full forward John Reynolds, coupled with a bullet by Niall McNamee turned the half into a rout.
