Jamie Osborne faces around two weeks out of action after X-rays confirmed he sustained a broken collar bone in a fall at Taunton on Thursday. The jockey was catapulted to the ground when his mount Royal Action crashed through the rails at the start of a novice hurdle and he was stood down for seven days due to concussion.
Osborne also injured his shoulder in the incident and he reported after a visit to hospital in Swindon that the collar bone was fractured.
"I have not had the results of the X-rays yet but you can safely say that the shoulder is fractured," he said.
"It's rather difficult to say how long I will be out but it is likely to be 10 days up to two weeks.
"It is not ideal with the season just getting going but it could have been worse and I should be back for the big races next month," he added.
Jockey Jamie Goldstein will from Monday relinquish his amateur status.
Goldstein partners two horses for John Ffitch-Heyes at Plumpton.
