Westmeath hurlers continued on their winning ways in Division Two of the National League when they defeated Tyrone by a massive 47-point margin at Cusack Park, Mullingar, yesterday.
The midlanders got off to a lightning start with three goals in the opening two minutes from Robbie Galvin, John Gavigan and Barry Kennedy.
By half-time, the winners had amassed a total of 5-10 to a solitary Tyrone point, scored by Brian McIntosh from a 50-metre free in the 14th minute.
Kevin Cunningham got Tyrone's second point within a minute of the resumption but that was to be the last score, as Westmeath took complete control.
