Geraldine Ward from the Portmarnock Pitch and Putt club will lead a six-strong Irish team against the Rest Of Europe in an international challenge at the Tolcinasco Club, Milan on September 13th. Ward the winner of eight national titles will be joined by Marian Byrne of St Brigid's, Margaret Campbell (Glenville), Bernadette Coffey (St Brigid's), Claire Murphy (ESB) and Linda O'Donovan-Murphy (Collins). The Rest of Europe team will comprise two Catalan players and one representative each from Britain, Italy, France and The Netherlands. The format for the match will be three 18 hole fourball matches followed by six singles matches. The Irish team will wind up their visit to Milan when they take part in the 36 hole Open Amateur Tournament on September 14th and 15th.
