Kevin McHugh's scored his sixth goal of the season as Finn Harps beat bottom of the table Cobh Ramblers 1-0 at St Colman's Park to join Drogheda United at the top of the first division table.
McHugh struck after 12 minutes to sidefoot home player/manager Jonathan Speak's cross. Speak then shot against the Cobh crossbar on 25 minutes with the woodwork also rescuing Ramblers again from Tom Mohan 10 minutes later. The result sets up a top-of-the-table clash when the joint leaders meet at Finn Park tomorrow night.
Sligo Rovers move up to third place with a superb 5-0 win away at Limerick FC. An Oran Weldrick own goal put Sligo in front after 19 minutes. Second-half goals from John Jordan, a brace from David O'Dowd and John Gaffney sealed Sligo's win. Limerick had defender David Dunphy sent off in the last minute.
Kilkenny City and Waterford United clash at Buckley Park finished scoreless.
