Since Tom Craddock lost his battle against cancer last November, his son, Chris Craddock, and Tom's many friends have been seeking ways to create a memorial tribute to one of Ireland's greatest amateur golfers. The first of these tributes was a gesture made by Chris to donate Tom's "Captain's Jacket" to the St Margaret's golf club where Tom was the captain for the first six years.
The jacket was accepted by St Margaret's chief executive, Tony Judge, at the launch of the Tom Craddock Cancer Fund Golf Classic.
This year's event will take place at St Margaret's on Tuesday, September 28th. Teams of four and four guests costs £1,000 and all funds raised will benefit the Beaumont Hospital Cancer Research and Development Trust and the Barretstown Gang Camp in Kildare.
