Jumps racing today hangs on an early-morning inspection at Musselburgh as bad weather continues to play havoc with the fixture list. The meeting at Fontwell has been abandoned and fixtures later in the week are also under some threat.
Officials at Musselburgh will hold a precautionary inspection at 6.30 a.m. to determine whether the fixture can go ahead. Anthea Morshead, raceday clerk of the course, said today: "There isn't any frost and the course is perfectly raceable at present. However, the Met Office has told us to expect snow today."
There will be an inspection at Market Rasen at 8.30 a.m. today ahead of tomorrow's meeting. Officials are optimistic for tomorrow's other meeting at Carlisle. However, there is already concern over Thursday's meeting at Stratford.
